In the words of Ranjana*
When I was a little girl, I had visited a nearby hospital run by a Christian Mission. I was fascinated to see the nurses looking after the needy patients and taking care of them in such a tender and compassionate way. There was one patient in particular who not only needed medical care but needed a caring touch. There was a nurse who ministered to the patient as if Jesus was touching him. Looking at this service to humanity, I felt a burden in my heart to grow up and become a nurse and do likewise.
However, my present condition did not permit me to study and receive the empowerment necessary. My parents worked on daily wages and I was taking care of the household chores including cooking and cleaning. Very often, I would see a vision of a nurse ministering to people in need and I would cry. My future was about to be marred and I did not have any hope to continue my studies. At this juncture, by the grace of God, I received an opportunity to take the benefit of an education at the Orchard Project home which is run by Pandita Ramabai Mukti Mission. This good initiative was taken so that needy children who are eager to study would receive the benefit. After joining the Orchard Project, my life was transformed inside out. I have learned so many new things and I feel a great sense of deliverance. My mourning turned into dancing. I am now finishing Junior College and will definitely pursue my dream to become a nurse so that I can help hurting people by showing the love of Jesus.
